Heat shock protein is a kind of protein which synthesizes rapidly from the bacteria to the higher eukaryote and is synthesized under the response of environmental stress. Because of the molecular weight of small heat shock protein about 20kDa in general, it is called HSP20. In this paper, the HSP20 gene family was identified and analyzed by bioinformatics based on tomato genome database. The results showed that there were at least 43 HSP20 genes in tomato, which were distributed unevenly on 12 chromosomes of tomato. The phylogenetic analysis of tomato, pepper and potato HSP20 showed that there was homologous relationship among them. Sequence analysis of HSP20 promoter sequence revealed a number of cis-acting elements involved in plant glucose metabolism and stress, including SURE and W-box. Based on the analysis of two tomatoes (Heinz1706 and pimpinellifolium) in the RNA-Seq database, it was found that most of the members of the family were highly expressed during fruit development and relatively low in other tissues. These results provide a basis for the identification of the evolutionary origin and function of tomato HSP20 gene.%热激蛋白是从细菌到高等真核生物中普遍存在的一种在受到环境胁迫的响应后迅速合成的蛋白.
