明清时期，受尊古思想和辨体意识的影响，韦应物、柳宗元五古的体裁意义和艺术价值在读者接受视野中得以凸显。因诗学主张及价值观的不同，此期诗家对韦、柳在五古发展史上的“正”与“变”及历史地位存在多样化的解读：或谓其变而不失正，可作为追陶及尚古的门径；或谓其乃六朝余韵，虽不足尽法，然实有妙诣。视角不一的批评和接受，一方面深入阐释了“韦柳体”的丰富内涵，另一方面也确立了韦应物、柳宗元在五言古诗及整个诗歌史上的意义和地位。%In Ming and Qing dynasty, Influenced by the ideas of respect for antiquity and style identification, the style meaning and achievement of Wei Yingwu and Liu Zongyuan＇ five words ancient poetry became much more prominent. Because of the difference in poetics and values, scholars during this pe- riod had various interpretations of Wei and Liu＇s contribution and position in the history of five words ancient poetry. Some thought that their poems did not lose the traditional spirit in changing, so they were often considered as the object of study and imitation in the course of learning Tao Yuanming＇s poem style and pursuing ancient tradition. Others thought that they were echo of the Six Dynasties, al- though are not good enough to be studied, but have their wonderful factors. Through the criticism and reception in a variety of angles, the rich meanings of Wei and Liu style were deeply interpreted, the value and status of Wei Yingwu and Liu Zongyuan in the history of five words ancient poetry and the whole poetry were discovered and confirmed.
