郎思孝是辽代学问僧的突出代表，曾任觉华岛海云寺的住持。他一生佛学论著丰富，受到契丹皇帝、贵族的特殊宠遇。到了金朝，仍然有人熟悉思孝的事迹和觉华岛的佛教。唐朝灭亡后，思孝实为振兴华严宗之关键人物。这位高僧及觉华岛在辽代佛教史及东亚佛学界都具有重要地位。%Lang Sixiao was an outstanding representative among academic monks in the Liao Dynasty who once took the seat of abbot of Haiyunsi Temple in Juehuadao Island. He wrote prolific Buddhist works, and was specially treated by Khitan emperors and aristocrats. Till the Jin Dynasty, there were still some people who was familiar to Sixiao＇ s deeds and Buddhism in Juehuadao Island. After the end of the Tang, Sixiao was actually a key finger for vigorously developing Huayan Sect. The eminent monk and Juehuadao Island held significant positions in the Liao Buddhist history and Eastern Asia Buddhism.
