The paper focuses on establishing a tentative model of English commercial advertisement translation based on Discourse Analysis. First, it surveys the feasibility of applying functional equivalence to this kind of translation as a theoretical guidance and criterion of evaluation. Second, it explores the application of discourse analysis to this kind of translation from the layers of lexicon, syntax, rhetorical devices and context, which serves as a method. Finally, it puts forward the tentative model, namely, in the process of translating English commercial advertisement, the translator employs discourse analysis as a method and functional equivalence as a guidance and criterion of evaluation so as to produce an ideal translated version.%将功能对等作为一种理论指导和评价标准应用于英语商业广告翻译,从词汇、句法、修辞和语境层面探讨语篇分析作为一种方法在翻译过程中的应用,提出一个针对英语商业广告的翻译模式。
