基于语料库的现代汉语语气词“呢”的用法及其英译

摘要

在不同的语境中，语气词“呢”会产生不同的语法意义。对比《茶馆》原文中语气词“呢”的使用情况和霍华先生的英译本，发现语气词“呢”在汉语言语交际中使用频繁，但语气助词“呢”在英语中没有准确的相对应词汇标记。因此，在英译本中只能根据交际情景语境，用恰当的语气或情态来体现说话者的语气。%The modal particle“Ne” has different grammatical meanings in different contexts.This paper compared the usage of the particle“Ne” in the original work“Teahouse” by Laoshe and the English translation text by Huo Hua.We can find that the particle“Ne” is used frequently in Chinese verbal communication, but there is no accurate corresponding lexical marker for the word“Ne” in English.Therefore, the speaker’ s tone in English translation can be only expressed with appropriate mood or modality according to the communicative context of situation.
