54年来,在＂中国文化热＂的驱动、刊物的支持、学者的努力和高校的培育下,明代土司政治文化研究取得了巨大的成绩,但同时也存在较大的问题：在理论建构、方法论转换和资料运用方面,存在着重官方轻民间、重实证轻解读和重文献轻田野的问题。因此,应强化土司族别史研究,建立国家和社会分层体系,分类解读政治文化现象。%The research on the political culture of chieftain in Ming dynasty not only achieves a great performance and but finds out problems： it prefers official rather than folk, empirical than interpretation, literature than field in the aspects of theory construction, method conversion and using data.
