Huang Yao was once celebrity-studded, and held frequent and diverse literary activities after the evacuation of Guilin Culture City. Although scholars had poor living conditions in Huang Yao, they still actively carried out various cultural activities concerning about state affairs, founded Guangxi Daily-Zhaoping edition- the propaganda against war, and carried out educational activities to enlighten the people.
