Training of listening comprehension has been habitually neglected in the teaching of English to non- English majors in China' s colleges and universities. As a result, students, and those majoring in engineering and science in particular,are generally poor in English hstening. The possible reasons underlying the present unsatisfying situation are found out and some tentative ways to deal with the said situation are proposed.%我国大学英语教学长期忽视对学生听力能力的训练.从课堂实践及四六级统考成绩来看,听力是大学英语教学的最薄弱环节.对理工科学生而言,听力问题尤为突出.本文讨论了造成目前困境的基本原因,简要分析了听力教学的理论问题,并结合作者的教学实践提出了一些对策和办法.
