民国之际“文笔之辨”及其文学史意义

     

摘要

民国之际的“文笔之辨”既是文体发展的必然结果,亦与骈文和散文之争的文学历史背景密切相关。刘师培、章太炎、黄侃等一批学者以北京大学为阵地,对“文”与“笔”范围和内涵进行了重新的界定,在一定程度上表现了对六朝文论的复归。从文学史上看,民国之际的“文笔之辨”在为骈体文寻求正统地位的同时,客观上也张扬了文学的审美功能。总之,民国之际学者们有关“文笔之辨”的理论总结和创作性的阐释,使得清末民初成为了“文笔之辨”历史的重要组成部分。%“Argument between Wen and Bi”in the Republic of China is not only the inevitable outcome of the de-velopment of writing styles,but also closely related to the historical literary background,that is the competition be-tween parallel prose and prose.Based on Peking University,a group of scholars such as LIU Shi-pei,ZHANG Tai-yan and HUANG Kan redefined the scope and connotation of“Wen”and “Bi”,which,to a certain extent, shows the return to the literary theory in the Six Dynasties.From the perspective of literary history,“argument be-tween Wen and Bi”in the Republic of China,seeks legitimacy for parallel prose while objectively affirming the aes-thetic function of literature.In short,the theoretical summary and creative interpretation of scholars about “argu-ment between Wen and Bi”in the Republic of China makes the late Qing Dynasty and the early years of the Repub-lic of China an important part of the history of“argument between Wen and Bi”.
