A Brief Discussion on ESP (English for Special Purposes)

ESP appears to represent a trend in Second Language Acquisition that has been growing rapidly. What is it and where did it come from? This paper briefly discusses the research supporting it along with its strengths and weaknesses of this approach in K-12, higher education, and occupational settings.
