In more recent years,there is a growing tendency that many studies have been conducted on the lexical chunk.However,most of them were just related to English teaching and learning while leave the role of the lexical chunk in many other fields unexplored.By means of survey and research,this paper tries to explore the classification of legal lexicon and whether the lexical chunk can help translators produce a better legal translation.This paper first introduces the definition and classification of the lexical chunk;then mainly analyzes legal lexicon from the point of the lexical chunk and discussed the role of the lexical chunk in legal translation.More and further researches should be conducted to explore the legal lexicon in legal translation in the future.
