EMT is very important in tumor invasion and metastasis. Tumor-associated macrophage (TAM), the basic component of tumor, induces the EMT of tumor cells. In addition to stimulating angiogenesis and extracellular matrix degradation, TAM is responsible for tumor local invasion and distant metastasis.
