《红楼梦》是我国古代四大名著之一，也是世界文化的瑰宝。本文撷取一点，通过对主人公贾宝玉服饰的杨、霍译版本的对比研究，探讨如何适度处理汉英翻译中的文化差异，减少翻译中的误译现象。%This paper focuses on the dif erent translations of Jia Baoyu’s dressing between the two English versions of A Dream in Red Mansions(one is translated by Yang Xianyi and Dai Naidie, the other is by David Hawkes.) It discusses how to deal with the cultural dif erences in Chinese-English translation appropriately in order to reduce mistranslation.
