Vocabulary plays a very important role in English study. But during a long period of teaching process, the writer finds out that the students who are poor in English generally have a small vocabulary. How to lead the students to study and remember the words deserve the teachers' thinking. So this paper tries to explore the effective ways to improve vocabulary study based on Schema Theory in Cognitive linguistics.%词汇在英语学习中具有着十分重要的作用。在长期的教学中,笔者发现大部分英语不好的学生皆因为英语的词汇不能达标。因此,如何指导学生学习词汇、记忆词汇应该引起教师的思考。本文通过利用认知语言学原理之一——图示理论,来探讨改进词汇学习的有效途径及方法。
