Numerical results showed additional moment caused by single - lap resulted in triangular stress distribution around hole along the thickness. Reasonable agreement was found between the compressive damage around the hole and lateral compressively damage as well as the limited load and the experimental results. The bolt hole located in the free end which has a little deformation should be designed as a countersunk hole.
