Cross-cultural Communication and Chinese Folk Culture

摘要

This paper aims to investigate the way for Chinese people to gain respect in cross- cultural communication and facilitate the appreciation and experience of the aesthetical spirit embedded in the splendid traditional Chinese culture. Via promoting our ethnic culture,Chinese culture can be properly developed and enriched,meanwhile,one can shape a self-personality characterized with an ethnic spirit. As has been commonly stated,Chinese culture is a sound base to win respect from foreign cultures. Therefore,folk culture plays a key role in the value system. It can directly shape an individual's personality and influence his or her status in international exchanges,which is deeply related to the dignity of the nation or the ethnical group.
