The purpose of this study was to compare the levels of job satisfaction/dissatisfaction among full-time elementary, junior high and senior high teachers, pupil personnel specialists (counselors and resource teachers) and administrators in the Provo School District during the 1984-85 school year. Using analysis of variance with orthogonal contrasts significant differences were found among the groups on the motivator and hygiene cluster areas as measured by responses to a questionnaire.;Findings indicated that school administrators receive the highest satisfaction from their work. Elementary teachers receive significantly more satisfaction than secondary teachers in achievement, interpersonal relations, and policy and administration. Graduate level teachers at the secondary level receive significantly less satisfaction from the factors related to salary than their bachelor level colleagues.
