Left-Behind Woman.

摘要

In the summer of 2009, I traveled to the north-east of China to the city of Benxi where I made the documentary Left-Behind Woman . The film examines the living conditions of women in the rural area outside the city. It explores the effects of deprivation of both paternal and emotional support systems as well as a plethora of new obstacles regarding the community in which these women reside. The film highlights the significant social impact of the Left-Behind Woman phenomenon and the effect internal migration is having on Chinese families.
