摘要

As robotics has been developed for years, there have been more chances for humans to interact with robotics technology (e.g., robotic vacuums, robotic surgery, etc.); this trend has increased the importance of human-robot interaction including human-robot communication. For the robust human-robot communication, natural language processing (NLP) can be implemented; among various natural language processing techniques existing, Ontological Semantic Technology (OST), which is to address meanings in an easily-comprehensible way as a human does, was selected for various natural languages can be plugged into a system in an ontology-based structure. This thesis specifically addresses a concept of natural-language-based communication with firefighting robots and humans; the main domain of the study in this thesis is based on firefighting situations, the robot as an actor is a firefighting robot, and the commander is considered as a firefighter. In order to implement ontology-based communication, two languages, which are Korean and English, were used for this particular study. The study extends the domain of Ontological Semantic Technology, OST, and this research deals with communication with robots in a firefighting domain using Korean and English.
