管窥本源文化概念蠡测认知翻译策略——杨译《红楼梦》的CMT研究

摘要

概念筹划是概念在译者的大脑得到诠释的认知过程。概念筹划理论(CMT)认为，译者翻译本源概念时，无法从概念-意旨系统中获取圆满的诠释，而是通过认知翻译策略(移植、释义、替代、删除)在记忆系统完成译文编码。概念筹划理论通过观察译者对本源概念的翻译策略的分布趋势，进而研究概念整合的结果在翻译过程中如何影响本源概念文化内涵的传递。
　　 本文运用何元建博士的概念筹划理论，以杨宪益夫妇《红楼梦》英译本为研究对象，对该译本中的习语、礼俗、宗教三类中文本源概念的翻译策略运用情况进行了统计分析，研究其分布趋势，并与何元建博士的研究结果进行对比分析，从实证角度验证其概念筹划理论。
　　 具体来说，本文首先对《红楼梦》中的三类具有中国文化特色的本源概念分类整理，即：习语、礼俗概念、宗教概念，并根据何元建博士对翻译策略的分类方法对杨氏夫妇翻译这三类本源概念的策略进行分类统计分析。从概念筹划角度观察杨氏在《红楼梦》英译本中如何处理这些本源概念的文化涵义，分析翻译策略在三类本源概念的分布趋势，然后与何元建博士的研究结果进行比较，解析导致翻译策略在不同文化文本中产生不同的分布特点的原因。最后，作者在研究杨氏夫妇翻译《红楼梦》本源概念的策略的基础上，总结出译者采用的其它翻译方法：综合法和比喻法，作为对概念筹划理论的补充。
　　 本研究证明了概念筹划理论可以解释认知制约在翻译过程中如何影响本源概念的整合，分析文化内涵不同的本源概念的翻译策略，并合理解释翻译策略在不同文化文本中的分布差异，同时也为概念筹划理论拓宽了研究领域。
