摘要

本文的写作初衷正基于以上对报刊新闻英语的全新理解,以期在语言,信息与思维之间架设起了一道互动的桥梁。 本文试图从符号学,功能语言学,语义学,文体学,哲学,及教育心理学等领域出发,以认知心理学中的“图示论”为主要参考理论从以下几个方面分析新闻英语与思维的关系: 新闻英语中的词汇具有独特的研究价值:通过对新闻英语在特定的“文化语境”中所反映出的“背景意义”进一步探讨语言的信 息传递功能; 与传统的只对新闻英语进行篇章或文体的研究不同的是,本文结合图示论,提出新闻英语中的特定段落群间的图示联系是其作者的思维模式的间接体现:由内在的共享图示所连接的“信息单元(Data Unit)”可以让新闻读者,特别是中国的一,二年级的大学生,充分体会到美英新闻记者在分析一具体新闻事件时的思维路线。 本文对第二语言课外学习与思维的关系及认知心理学的相关研究将会有所裨益。
