功能理论视角下的国际会议发言汉英翻译研究——以联合国教科文组织会议汉语发言翻译为例

摘要

随着中国在国际舞台上的地位日益凸显，中国参与国际会议的机会也逐年增多。国际会议中来自我国代表的发言代表中国的立场、态度和利益，而能否为此做出恰当的翻译，让非中文母语者清晰了解发言的意义，将直接影响会议效果的优劣，从而进一步影响我国利益的维护。因此，对这一类文本的翻译研究具有较强的现实意义。本文将利用德国功能翻译学派的相关具体理论作为理论基础，对国际会议中文发言英译进行案例研究，能够测评该理论对于这类文本的翻译实践适用度如何，从而进一步拓宽功能翻译理论的应用研究范围，使该研究亦具有理论价值。
　　 本研究的创新之处在于将功能翻译理论运用到国际会议汉语发言翻译的领域，并通过分析来自联合国教科文组织会议的具体译例，达到评价该理论在此领域的适用度的目的。本文也结合前人研究成果，归纳出国际会议发言的概念、分类和特征及其翻译的特征和原则，提出了本文所研究的国际会议发言及翻译。本文主要采取文献综述法、理论和案例分析相结合的方法开展研究。本文从联合国教科文组织官方数据库选取该组织会议的中文发言逐字记录，并找出相应的正式英文译文作为范例，通过对联合国教科文组织会议中文发言英译的案例研究，本文得出如下结论:功能翻译理论对于于国际会议发言汉英翻译实践适用度较高，相关译例均可以功能翻译理论进行分析，且经过分析发现相关译例基本都采取了符合相应功能理论要求的翻译方法。在此基础上，本文认为，功能翻译理论的原则能够有效促进此类文本的翻译，从而保证在国际会议场合，我国代表将能够与其它国家、地区或组织的代表达到更为有效的交流，向世界更好的传播中国影响力，维护中国的国际利益。
