摘要

20世纪开始,人们逐渐意识到语言与文化的紧密关系,并发现语言的教学离不开文化。学习一门语言并不仅仅是学习该语言的知识与结构,同时也要学习与了解它的背景——即文化。学习者需要提高跨文化交际能力,才能在多元文化的世界中成功的进行国际间的交流。高中英语新课程标准中把文化意识的培养纳入教学目标之一,并提出了具体的文化学习要求。文化在语言教学中得到了重视,但在具体的教学中文化教学情况与《标准》存在一定差距。此外,在文化教学中学习者的本地文化在英语学习中也起到很大的作用,但并没有受到足够的重视。本文旨在调查广西几个主要城市内高中英语文化教学的现状,以便为提高英语文化教学提出适用性建议。
  本文主要研究三个问题:1、高中教师及学生对文化教学的意识如何?2、高中英语文化教学情况怎样?3、高中英语文化教学的影响因素以及相应的解决方法是什么?研究的方法采取定量分析与定性分析相结合,本论文的定量研究部分采用问卷调查方法,调查高中生对文化教学的整体感知。定性分析采用访谈与课堂观察,对高中英语教师的文化教学各方面进行深入分析。
  研究结果表明:1、几所学校教师与学生对文化教学并不太敏感,尤其是大部分学生都没能意识到文化在英语教学中的重要作用。2、文化教学在具体的英语课堂中并未能很好的显现,在教材、教学方法、教学评价中都存在一定的缺陷。3、文化教学的影响因素主要有高考的压力,学校的教学任务繁重,教师缺乏相应教学培训,学生缺乏自主学习能力等。
  本研究给中学英语文化教学的深刻启示是:提高高中英语文化教学的效率需要在先进的语言学习理论指导下从教材的改善,教学方法的创新,学生自主学习能力的培养等方面,在教师和学生的共同努力下在课堂教学中不断渗透。笔者希望通过本文的研究对高中英语文化教学情况进行深入了解并对其的提高提供帮助。
