从功能对等理论看儿童文学的翻译——以《汤姆·索亚历险记》中译本为例

摘要

本文旨在研究奈达的功能对等理论对儿童文学翻译的指导意义。功能对等理论强调，译文不应拘泥于原文的形式，而是在必要时可对原文的结构和形式进行调整，以实现信息上的对等，最终使译文读者能与原文读者产生相同的反应。功能对等理论以“读者反应论”为核心，对儿童文学翻译具有重要的指导作用。
　　儿童读者特殊的生理和心理特点要求译者在翻译儿童文学时，对原文中的语言结构进行适当调整且使用通俗易懂，而又生动有趣的语言，最终使译文儿童读者能与源语儿童读者具有相同的反应，获得同样的感受。本文以《汤姆·索亚历险记》中译本为例，在奈达的功能对等理论指导下，探讨儿童文学的翻译，并通过功能对等理论中的意义、风格和文化三个方面的分析比较，从实践个案上来证明功能对等理论在指导儿童文学翻译上的适用性。
　　在众多的中译本中，张友松的译本一直广受欢迎，由人民文学出版社出版并得到多次重印，为儿童文学翻译研究提供很大的启示。通过对《汤姆·索亚历险记》张友松译本的分析，奈达的功能对等理论无论是理论上还是实践上，在指导儿童文学的翻译上都具有一定的指导意义。从理论上说，本研究使用功能对等理论分析张友松的译本，论证了功能对等理论在儿童文学翻译中的指导作用和解释力。从实践上看，通过对《汤姆·索亚历险记》个案的分析，本研究能对儿童文学译者如何达到功能对等给予一定的启发，有助于更好地实现儿童文学翻译的功能对等。
