摘要

文化缺省是翻译研究中一种位于中间地带的独特的文化现象,因为它被来自同一文化背景中的人所共识,但却不为其它文化中的人所知晓或熟悉,因而在文化翻译中扮演着举足轻重的角色。它不仅映射出文学作品的美学价值,同时在促进作品的连贯性方面也扮演着关键的角色,如何以一种理想的方式翻译文化缺省,甚至可以说是决定目标读者能否与原作者及原文“心有灵犀一点通”的点睛之笔。
  接受理论,作为一种以读者为主导的批评范畴,为翻译研究提供了宝贵的启示作用。为应对文化缺省,接受理论要求译者采取相应的翻译手段“改变目标读者的期待视野”或是“扩大他们的先结构”以保证目标读者积极参与阅读过程。
  在本论文中,作者将主要探讨文学翻译中的文化缺省,探讨在文学作品中翻译文化缺省时,不同译者为达到文化置换或保持异国情调这两种代表性的翻译效果而采取的主要的翻译手段,并分析采取不同翻译策略的外在时代环境因素及作品本身内在原因。另外,作者将重点研究翻译文化缺省时采取的补偿手段,并最后得出结论:增补性翻译,包括文内解释增补法即明示翻译法及文外加注增补法即注释性翻译法,均可以使得目标读者体会外国文化及异国情调,同时增补策略通过提供必要的背景知识以扩大目标读者的“先结构”,以缓解其为了解原作者的写作意图而产生的认知负担,从而能够与文本及原作者进行更为流畅的对话。
