摘要

本文着重讨论了中国英语专业学生在选修商务英语相关课程时的实际需求及反馈情况,特别调查了地处西部的重庆地区学习者对商务英语的需求状况.根据Dudley-Evans和St John提出的关于需求分析的现时理论框架,文中设计了针对两类学习者的调查问卷.一类是在读的高年级英语专业学生,另一类则包括具有英语专业背景在内的商务人士.问卷设计从如下角度出发:学习者的职业信息;个人信息;现时英语水平信息;所缺乏的相关技能信息;学习语言及技能的有效途径信息;如何进行有效职业沟通的信息;如何从所修课程中满足学习需求的信息以及在何种环境下教授相关课程的信息.调查结果显示,英语语言的实际应用能力在商务英语人才培养中仍然起关键作用.与此同时,英语专业背景的学习者认为必需的商务专业知识在职业环境中同样不可或缺.单纯的语言教师如果没有丰富的商务技能操作经验和商务专业知识,则很难满足中国商务英语学习者的学习需求.
