探索头韵对英语习语意义记忆的影响

摘要

近年来，公式语(如习语，固定搭配等)因其在语言学和心理语言学研究中的特殊地位，在语言教学中也受到越来越多的关注。然而，针对公式语中最为固定同时难度也最大的习语，似乎很少发现有效的学习方法。面对如此常见，有用，但难以把握的语言现象，二语学习者必定需要一些记忆方法来学习大量的习语。Boers和Lindstromberg(2005)发现英语习语中大量存在着带头韵的现象，并且通过实验证明头韵这一音韵特征能够帮助英语学习者更加准确地记忆英语习语的形式。张磊(2008)通过实证研究也证明了头韵具有促进习语形式记忆的作用。但是，在同一项研究中，他发现头韵并不能帮助英语学习者更好地记忆习语的意义。
　　 为更加全面地探究头韵促进记忆的效果，并且只针对习语的意义记忆，本研究进行了两项实验。第一项实验部分复制张磊的研究。实验结果表明头韵并不能帮助英语学习者更加准确地记忆习语的意义。基于对这一音韵现象凸显性的怀疑，第二项实验中，学习者的注意力被明确地引向头韵的音韵特征。即使如此，结果显示头韵对习语意义记忆仍旧没有促进作用。本研究分析了实验任务中的认知过程，结合实验结果，证明了头韵在习语记忆中的局限作用。最后本研究建议探索对习语更有效的记忆方法。
