摘要

This paper discusses learner-centered approaches and evaluation in English language teaching andrnlearning materials design. Based on the researches in this field, a framework is developed for thernevaluation of learner-centered components contained in the materials. Thereafter, we apply the criteriarnto the assessment of two major English textbooks College English (1991) and Experiencing Englishrn(2002) for teachers and book designers’ reference. The results reflect the trend in the domain ofrnCollege English materials development in China.
