By the application of high-pressure roller mill (HPRM) in the field of mineral processing, computerrnsimulation can be used to predict overall performance of a grinding circuit based on data obtainedrnfrom HPRM comminution test in pilot scale or industrial scale. Using the model developed byrnKlymowsky and Liu for HPRM comminution and an extended Plitt’s model for classification, steadystaternof a closed circuit grinding can be calculated by means of a virtual locked-cycle-test conductedrnon computer. This paper presents the result of a simulation study on two-stage grinding with HPRMrnas the comminution device. The emphasis is put on the influences of circuit-configuration and wayrnof recirculating classifier’s coarse-product on the overall circuit performance. The results show thatrntwo-stage grinding with HPRM has its merit and flexibility in meeting demands of various grindingrntasks in mineral processing.
