Based on the research of wheat quality and the application of the safe wheat storage monitoring and prediction system, intelligent evaluation and prediction of wheat quality was achieved with modern information technology. By applying Content-Based Image Retrieve (CBIR) to retrieve the multimedia database of wheat quality, the classification of varieties and the assessment of quality were completed. The results of experiment showed the validity of indexes and the correctness of grade, and the correct rate of the classification of wheat cultivars was 98.4 percent. By applying Geographical Information System (GIS) to monitor and predict the distribution of wheat quality, the status of the distribution of wheat quality was intuitive and vivid, and facilitated to study and decide. The safe wheat storage monitoring and prediction system with CBIR and GIS could implement better the classification of varieties, the assessment of quality and other functions. This study has provided theory and technology for intelligent evaluation and prediction of wheat quality with modern information technology.
