This paper presents the numerical method and calculation resutls for hte flow around high lift devices of airplane. In order to compute the effects of slots for high lift devices, the 3-D Reynolds-averaged incompressible Navier-Stokes equations are solved numerically by using a finite volume method. A new type of two-equation turbulence model, in which the local vorticiy of the main flow is introduced to close the turbulence-stress, is employed to simulate the large area separations for high deflection and fir air brake.
