This paper emphasizes the importance of education for a person in a developed society. There is a need to assess the effectiveness of using classrooms, laboratories and software in the educational process of higher educational institution in order to improve the quality of training. Emphasis is placed on the importance of intelligent technologies as a tool for assessing the quality of the educational process, the use of which improves the quality of training. A brief description of the main provisions of the theory of fuzzy sets is presented. The features of an educational and laboratory fund of a higher educational institution (area, number of working places, software available) that must be taken into account in the educational process are listed. It is shown that all features have a different nature, which led to the need to use the apparatus of fuzzy sets. An example of the description of the input linguistic variable with the original base set and term-sets is given. This work allows us to expand the scope of application of the apparatus of fuzzy sets. Improving information communication technologies (creating local and global networks, databases and knowledge, as well as expert systems) forms a specific educational information computer area of a higher educational institution that enriches traditional forms of education.
