Which Essential OSH Topics Warrant a Standalone course - What Health and Safety Professionals have told NEBOSH, and Enhancing the Learning Experience

NEBOSH is a vocational awarding body situated in the UK offering health and safety and environmental qualifications in over 120 countries around the world. NEBOSH provides qualifications for EHS Professionals from foundation level up to Masters' Degree level. As part of the most recent review of our Degree level health and safety qualification we conducted detailed research with over 1500 Health and Safety Professionals and their employers. In this paper we will describe what the research told us about the challenges for the health and safety professional; which parts of their studies they found most useful in their day to day workplace; and their perceptions of the future learning and development needs of safety professionals. We will then explain how this research can be used to inform which topics warrant a standalone course.
