Boeing has long been the leader in commercial electric propulsion boasting a highly successful fleet of hybrid chemical/electric propulsion satellites. Continuing with the company's strong tradition of innovation to meet evolving customer needs Boeing has developed another industry first; the All Electric Propulsion Satellite. Previously thought to be a non-starter based on the existing industry paradigms, Boeing's novel approach has taken this from concept to contract in less than 2 years by re-examining industry dogma, applying new technologies and optimizing the spacecraft design to leverage the strengths of electric propulsion.
