A method for optimizing dichotomy in sensory evaluation

In order to reduce the number of test in sensory evaluation, this paper presents a method for optimizing dichotomy in sensory evaluation; and this method is based on the similarity of distance between one new sample and the middle one of evaluated samples. For evaluating one new sample, firstly, we use dichotomy to judge its direction whether belongings to left sets or right sets; secondly, we use the similarity to optimize dichotomy. The total number of test is reduced greatly using our method than that of test of pairs.
