Measurement of actinide concentration in solution samples from the NUCEF reprocessing facility by x-ray and low energy gamma-ray spectroscopy.

摘要

X-ray and low-energy gamma-ray spectroscopy has ben used to measure actinide conentration within the back-end nuclear fuel reporcessing resarch facility at NUCEF. Research on advanced prepocessing techniques at NUCEF is based on the PARC refinement of the PURex process which aims to reocver Am and Cm from the highly active wate stream and to control and partition Np and Tc. It is hoped that the PARC process will mitigate the environmental impact of the wastes and improve the economy of reprocessing.
