A Point Selection Method Based on Edge Detection for Direct Sparse Visual Odometry

摘要

We propose a point selection method for direct sparse visual odometry system. A rule based on straightness, smoothness and length is applied to choose effective edges. The edge points are preferred to be selected. Experiment results show that our method improves the performance of existing systems in urban environment.
