Dielectric Properties of Human Blood of Patients Suffering From Renal Failure

This paper reports the dielectric properties of whole blood, Erythrocyte cells and plasma of blood taken from renal failure patients. Dielectric parameters such as dielectric loss, Dielectric constant and specific conductance are evaluated by calculating dissipation factor and capacitance of dielectric cell with the samples of blood at audible frequency (100 Hz to 25 k. Hz) using digital LCZ meter. The study reveals that dielectric constant, specific conductance decreases, and dielectric loss increases in the case of plasma of patient suffering from renal disease, as the concentration of erythrocytes in blood increases (45% and 90%); when compared with that of normal blood samples. It can be concluded that blood of renal failure patients becomes more dielectric and conducting because of the presence of urea and creatinine in the blood.
