Graphene is the thinnest material in the Universe. In graphene sp2 hybridised carbon atoms arranged in a honeycomb lattice. It is the parent of all carbon allotropes. Graphene is synthesized by top-down and bottom up methods. Liquid phase exfoliation is an example of top-down approach and it is the most convenient method for the production of water soluble graphene. In this paper we have reported water soluble SDBS(sodium dodecylbenzyl sulfonate) assisted grapheme. The exfoliated graphene was achieved successfully through probe sonication followed by centrifugation. Graphene dispersion is characterized by microscopic as well as spectroscopic techniques.
