The main objective of this study is to improve the ability to rewrite the fairy tales that have been read with a certain style of language by using the gallery walk learning model. The study was conducted on VII grade students at SMP Negeri 11 Kota Tasikmalaya in 2015/2016 academic year. The result of this study shows that gallery walk learning model can improve the quality of learning to rewrite the fairy tales that have been read. In the first cycle, the percentage of the student learning process reaches 28% of active students, 42% of students with significant efforts, and only 15% of students who working together. In addition, judging from the percentage of learning outcomes, 81% of students have not been able to achieve the Minimum Completeness Criteria/Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) of 75, and 19% of students have been able to achieve KKM. In the second cycle, there is a significant escalation of learning process and students' learning outcomes. The students' learning outcomes on this learning cycle reach 48% of active students, 42% of students with significant efforts, and 36% of students who working together. While the percentage of learning outcomes has reached 100% of the specified KKM. This happens because of the motivation given by the researcher and the result of hard work of students who have been able to recognize the gallery walk learning model.
