Preparation of microencapsulated mat-PDMS and use them in self-healing epoxy coatings

摘要

One of very effective approaches in the field of self-healing systems is to use healing agents which can be cured in natural conditions(i.e.in the presence of atmospheric moisture,oxygen or sunlight).Photo-responsive self-healing systems is also particularly attractive because they are clean,rapid,remote,cheap,readily available and practical in strategy.In this work,we have developed an extrinsic photoinduced self-healing system for metal coatings application by encapsulation of methacryloxypropyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane(MAT-PDMS)as a UV/sunlight curable agent with urea formaldehyde(MUF).
