Elucidation of Multi-step Nucleation Process of Metal-Organic Frameworks by using Fluidic Systems

摘要

Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) are promising materials for gas storage, separation, and catalysis because of the adsorptive properties of their uniform nanometer-ordered framework pores. To diversify frameworks, multicomponent MOFs constructed from more than two kinds of bridging ligands have been actively investigated due to their unique pore structures, and MOFs composed of more than two kinds of ligands have attracted much attention due to the high degree of design freedom afforded by the combination of multiple ligands. Predicting the synthesis conditions for such multicomponent MOFs requires an understanding of how the complicated self- assembly of multiple ligands and metal ions proceeds to form these crystalline frameworks.
