Enhancing effects of cleaner additives WEC on coated white board paper

Enhancing effects of self-developed cleaner papermaking additives WEC on production of coated white board paper were investigated in this paper. The results indicated that the utilization of additives WEC could increase the properties of the paper as well as improve the performance of paper making system. The internal bonding strength of board paper was increased by 15%—30% while the gloss increased by 30%-57%, with different basis weight of paper. Besides, with the applications of additives WEC, the dosage of coating color was reduced by 8% to 10% while the fines retention improved by 13% and 21% for surface and bottom pulp, the papermaking performance being improved. Therefore, the application of WEC additives improved quality of white board and saved papermaking materials, leading to protection of environment and resources.
