PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing coated white paperboard in which a stable curtain film can be formed at a low coating speed.SOLUTION: The method for producing coated white paperboard includes forming a coating layer on a base paper by making the base paper pass through a curtain film formed from a coating liquid containing a pigment, in which the coating liquid has a viscosity modifier comprising a W/O type emulsion of a polycarboxylic acid-based copolymer having a weight average molecular weight of 4 million to 50 million and an anionic surfactant, and the coating speed is 100 to 800 m/minute.
