EFFECTS OF ENRICHED Artemia NAUPLII WITH COD-LIVER OIL, SOYA BEAN OIL AND OLIVE OIL ON GROWTH AND SURVIVAL OF Clarias gariepinus LARVAE

摘要

Artemia nauplii is the food of first choice for newly hatched fish ( Sorgeloos et al.,2001). However, Artemia are deficient in some essential unsaturated fatty acids required for optimal growth of fish larvae. It is therefore the practice to enrich Artemia with these essential fatty acids . This work was aimed at determining the effect of enriched Artemia nauplii with cod- liver oil, soya bean oil and olive oil on growth and survival of Clarias gariepinus larvae.
