Peculiarities of Leadership Potential Development in Educational Environment

The problem of leadership is actualized everywhere, the society needs competent and active specialists who are able to take decisions independently, ready to assume responsibility for their implementation. Specialists can clearly define the goals of their activity, predict the options for achieving it, analyze the course and results, overcome difficulties, and also know how to properly build relationships with other people, work in a team, that is, show leadership qualities. The authors consider the main concepts and approaches to leadership. The methodological basis for this is the interdisciplinary and comprehensive approaches, practical usefulness principles focusing on students' personal qualities. The article considers the influence of personal reference points on development of leadership qualities in the educational environment on the example of Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR). Practical significance of the work lies in the fact that the most important role in the stage of formation and development of youth as groups is played by the leaders - students who ensure the success of group activity by their behavior, mobilizing influence on others, initiative, efforts to achieve educational and educational tasks. The authors conclude that extracurricular activities of universities are the most important components of training specialists. It allows students to form a conscious civic position, the desire to preserve and multiply moral, cultural and universal values, develop skills of constructive behavior.
