A method employing solid phase extraction (SPE) technique and gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GCMS) analysis was developed for quantification of trace amount of organochlorine pesticides in water matrix included in the Regulation of Republic of Indonesia Government Number 82 of 2001 concerning Management of Water Quality and Water Pollution Control. The compound analyzed were lindane, dieldrin, and heptachlor. An artificial sample was made by spiking the ultrapure water by aliquots of pure standards of each analyte. The polymeric SPE sorbent cartridges Supelclean LC-18 was used in the extraction process and successful in performing extraction with 100 mL of sample volume. The small sample volume has advantage in saving time needed for the extraction. The developed method has been performed to the spiked ultrapure water sample with mass fraction of each target analyte at 10 μg/kg. The effect of addition of internal standard and the pH difference on the trueness and precision of this method were also presented in this study.
