Nano-sized filled Ce_yCoSb_3 (y=0.05,0.1,0.15,0.2) were fabricated via solvothermal route at 240°C for 72 h and sintered at around 300°C for 5 h in inert argon atmosphere. Surface morphology analysis shows spherical shaped nanoparticles with narrow size distribution and particle size of about 50 nm. The structural analysis of the samples by Powder X-Ray Diffraction confirms the formation of cubic CoSb_3 and also indicates successful filling of Ce into CoSb_3 cage-like structure. Energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDS) data reveals the purity and elemental composition of the as-synthesized nanostructures. The spectroscopic studies by Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and UV-Visible absorption spectroscopy indicate the effect of filling on the phase formation.
