A conceptual design of next generation computer: Hybrid spectral computing and analog wave computing

As the limits foreseen of the digital computing, the effort to go beyond the limits of computational power has been actively carried out. For example, advances to new computing are being sought, such as quantum computing and DNA computing. And, cloud computing also has expanded the coverage. But the emphasis put on the computing in calculation only ("Rain man computer") can not fundamentally solve the interface limitations of the physical world and information interfacing is becoming more intense. The interface bottlenecks with physical information do not meet the computing power; that is, digital bottlenecks are increasing severity. Inputting physical information in order to solve this problem in the form of a wave without the conversion of analog to digital has been proposed that performs the calculation immediately. Recent development of analog processing elements will have been made to the implementation phase with the structural design. And theoretical results on the basis of the meta-material are likely to be implemented in the near future even performing complex calculations. In this paper, we propose a computing mechanism based on the analog wave signal including a fully pluggable interface ("Helen keller computer") to take full advantage of analog processing elements.
