摘要

The proton exchange membrane fuel cell has the inherent benefits of rapid start-up, low operating temperature, and high power density, which makes it an ideal power source for electric vehicles. Taiwan is one of the leading consumers and producers of ICE-powered scooters worldwide. This study conducted a field demonstration of the next generation fuel cell-powered hybrid scooter to assess its performance and logistic support for mass consumption in Taiwan. The maximal speed of the scooter is 53.2 km/h; however, the range between refueling is 63.5 km, which is lower than expected. The main objectives to extend the range are to reduce the weight of the scooter and to increase hydrogen utilization of the fuel cell.
